I think people have been too harshly critical of this film, not justifying their opinion with much of a vaild base, so they didn’t get everything to your liking or point of view, it doesn’t change the fact that overall it was a well made thorughly furnished great adaptation of a very complex story, with a great music score from a young american composer and great acting from the whole cast, it keeps you intisced throughout and therefore in my opinion makes it a beautiful story. 8.5/10.

    Excellent Movie ,its great

  4. wellershill says:

Yes, real life is complex – it’s not like a Hollywood movie.

  5. wellershill says:

Yes it’s a great novel and excellent movie. Ordinary people do horrendous things under certain conditions. The Germans have faced up to their past. Which is more than can be said for most other countries – eg., Japan in WW2. No country is morally better than another.

Excellent movie, Kate sure deserved her Oscar, awesome performance, but what I wished the movie included was a “flashback” sequence by Hannah showing her dilemma in not knowing what to do while the Jews were burning in the church and what the other female guards really did.

  13. SAMpatx says:

If you have the DVD version you have to check out the deleted scenes, which are great, the most moving is the one where Hanna is attempting to learn how to read in prison with the help of one of the female prison employees, great acting by Kate Winslet in that scene.

  14. fgrod says:

Hannah was a metaphor for all the Americans out there who could care less about all the people dying in this country who cannot afford healthcare. The same type of mental justification is going on now. Exactly the same as Hannah!!!! God bless artists like Kate – very rare.

I just got done watching this chick flick drama and i aint gonna lie, i broke down like alittle bitch as tears slowly flowed down from my eyesockets to the center of my dimpled cheeks. Im a guy and these type of dramas always seem to get to my soul. Great emotional movie. And i must say, the beginning was quite exciting as we learned our protaganist characters. 5 out of 5. Im picking up the dvd.

  23. drpuckz says:

A very emotional movie, it was indeed disturbing for me (in the beginning) but nearing the end I felt pity – it was an amazing peformance.

  24. VSL123 says:

What society thinks they operate by morality? The mere statement is absurd. Society operates by pragmaticism – always have done and always will.
